Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan and director Jake Kasdan have brought "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" to China. They were welcomed by hundreds of fans at a green carpet event in Beijing, before giving a press conference for the fantasy adventure reboot. Inspired by the Robin Williams 1995 children's classic "Jumanji," the reboot reimagines the board game from the original 1995 movie as a vintage video game, into which four teenagers are drawn. Johnson and Gillan play two of the avatars the four hapless teens find themselves inhabiting inside the game. "What we're finding with 'Jumanji' is that, we are these teenagers who are very uncomfortable in our skin but then also playing these superheroes, So the idea that we are actually playing two people at the same time throughout the movie has been a challenge but also a lot of fun." "It was just really interesting for me to explore playing this awkward girl that didn't know how to inhabit such a fierce character. It was a fun arc for the character." "Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle" opens in China on January 12.
